zivik Funding Programme

The Institute for Foreign Relations (IFA) is seeking applications for the zivik Funding Programme to support civil society actors worldwide in preventing crises and overcoming conflicts.

.

With their commitment, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) complement state actors by providing significant perspectives and setting important priorities.

.

Funding is provided for projects in the field of crisis prevention, conflict management, stabilisation, peacebuilding and democracy-building  by NGOs that operate in crisis and conflict regions. Focal regions are Sub-Saharan Africa, the Southwest Asia and North Africa (SWANA) region, Southeastern Europe, Ukraine, Belarus, the South Caucasus and projects by the Unidas Women’s Network in Latin America and the Caribbean. In exceptional cases, the zivik Funding Programme also accepts projects from other regions.

.

The resolution underlines the central role of young people in peace processes and is based on five pillars:

.

  • Participation: Young people are to actively participate in political and social decision-making processes.
  • Protection: Young people are to be protected from violence, exploitation and abuse.
  • Prevention: The causes of conflict are to be combated at an early stage through education, participation and social integration.
  • Partnership: Cooperation with youth organisations and civil society actors is to be strengthened.
  • Reintegration: Young people returning from armed groups or conflicts are to receive support and experience social integration.
