CCAC Challenge Programme for Accelerating uptake of eCooking

The CCAC Challenge seeks to accelerate eCooking uptake in Africa to reduce health and climate impacts, empower women and communities, and to unlock economic opportunities across the clean cooking value chain.

The initiative is designed to boost the adoption of electric cooking (eCooking) technologies across eligible African countries, with the aim of reducing indoor pollution, improving health outcomes, and contributing to climate change mitigation.

Benefits

  • The estimated project cost for initiatives under this programme is $2,000,000.

Eligibility:

  • The call is open to non‑profit organisations including NGOs, IGOs, and public institutions operating in ODA‑eligible African countries.
  • Projects should tackle at least three of several key focus areas, such as developing locally appropriate eCooking technologies, strengthening infrastructure and energy access for cooking, designing financial inclusion and affordability models, and empowering women and promoting behaviour change around clean cooking.
