They encompass climate change, shifting ecosystems, and human resilience, while exploring the delicate balance between these environments, their shared vulnerabilities and their profound impact on life.

They also emphasize exploring links between climate, ecology and human adaptation, revealing the fragility of glaciers and the relentless immensity of deserts and showing how these worlds are interconnected by the same climate crisis, while reflecting on the resilience and adaptation of communities and ecosystems in developing countries.

- The award offers a prize of 20,000 dollars for the best Photo Essay
Eligibility:
- Open to photographers who are nationals of a developing country in the global South
- Photographers are encouraged to submit a Photo Essay consisting of ten photographs that visually narrate these transformations without textual explanation.
- The competition emphasizes technical quality, aesthetic value, composition, originality, cultural relevance, and coherent storytelling.
- Each photographer or group may submit only one entry, produced within the last five years, along with verifiable proof of its production date.
