Allan Gray Makers StartUp Academy For Artisan Entrepreneurs

The Allan Gray Makers StartUp Academy is now accepting applications for its 2026 Incubation Programme, an 8-month journey designed to equip young artisans with practical entrepreneurship skills and business support. The programme targets aspiring entrepreneurs in bricklaying, carpentry, electrical, and plumbing trades who are ready to start or grow their own businesses.

What You’ll Gain

  • Selected participants will receive hands-on entrepreneurship training and mentorship, along with a R3000 monthly transport allowance to support their participation throughout the programme.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old, unemployed or self-employed, and not studying full-time. Eligible candidates should have one of the following:

  • A trade test qualification in bricklaying, carpentry, electrical, or plumbing
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience and readiness to take a trade test
  • An N2 Certificate and 3 years of work experience in one of the mentioned trades
