The Robert Rauschenberg Foundation Archives Research Residency Grant Program is an opportunity for researchers and scholars interested in visiting the Rauschenberg Foundation and its Archives in New York City.

The Archives Research Residency will provide partial support for research costs, expanding the range of individuals that are able to visit. Projects can range from traditional to innovative: exhibitions and publications, globalism and internationalism, inspiration for personal art practice, artistic collaboration and multi-disciplinary practices, underrepresented topics and audiences.

Selected residents will receive a stipend of $1,500 per week to cover costs related to their time at the foundation. The foundation will also provide a housing stipend for those traveling from more than 50 miles outside New York City, with possible housing in Manhattan arranged closer to the residency period. Airfare or train travel to and from New York City will be booked and paid by the foundation. The residency does not include a per diem, and funds are generally used to cover meals, local transit, and other minor expenses.

Eligibility:
- Priority will be given to independent researchers, projects related to underrepresented topics/audiences, and those with significant distance to travel.
- The program supports scholars, academics, artists, and other researchers at the graduate level or above who can show a clear need for using the archives onsite and who may face financial barriers to visiting.
