Asset Assist Program in South Africa

The Department of Small Business Development (DSBD) has relaunched its Asset Assist Programme, providing much-needed support to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across South Africa.

Benefits

  • The programme offers grants of up to R250,000 to help businesses acquire machinery, equipment, working capital, and raw materials.
  • Applicants should note that only up to 20% of the total grant may be allocated for raw materials and stock.

Eligibility:

  • Eligibility for the programme is limited to South African-owned MSMEs that are registered with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) and are tax compliant.
  • Sole proprietors with valid documentation and tax compliance are also eligible.
  • Certain businesses are excluded, including cooperatives, MSMEs with a turnover exceeding R1 million, and those previously funded through the Asset Assist Programme.
