The Keeling Curve Prize 2026 recognizes and supports innovative climate solutions that aim to bend the Keeling Curve downward by reducing the concentration of atmospheric CO2 and other greenhouse gases.

Focus Areas: Carbon Sinks – projects that activate and accelerate natural and/or man-made (engineered) systems; Energy – projects that decarbonize energy, support zero-carbon energy innovations and advancements; Finance – projects that make the economics and/or financial mechanisms work for climate-positive impact; Social & Cultural Pathways – projects changing the way people consider, understand, and act on climate issues; Transport & Mobility – projects reimagining and reinventing all types of mobility systems.

Named after the groundbreaking Keeling Curve graph, which has tracked atmospheric CO2 since 1958, the Keeling Curve Prize celebrates and supports global efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainability.

Benefits

  • It offers a $50,000 award to each of 10 winners selected through a rigorous review process led by experts.

Eligibility:

  • The prize supports leaders from over 109 countries, including those from emerging markets, BIPOC- and women-led organizations, and under-resourced communities.
  • They welcome entries for active projects or programs from anywhere in the world where Climate Curve is permitted to distribute funds
