The development Research and Projects Centre is now accepting applications for its NSI grant Round 2.
.
The development Research and Projects Centre (dRPC), with the generous support of the Ford Foundation Office of West Africa, has announced the second round of applications for its NGO Support Initiative (NSI). This call targets Nigerian NGOs that were forced to close out projects due to funding cuts, providing them with a chance to re-engage in high-impact community development.
.
Under this initiative, qualified NGOs are invited to apply for sub-grants of ₦5,000,000 to implement short-term but impactful projects focused on women’s health, gender-based violence (GBV) prevention, women’s economic empowerment (WEE), and social justice. Funded projects must be completed within a strict three-month timeline, ensuring rapid deployment and measurable outcomes.
These Cohort 1 grantees are currently implementing projects across 10 states in Nigeria, addressing the health, empowerment, digital literacy, and financial inclusion needs of over 127,000 women and girls. All projects are community-centered and include active partnerships with government agencies to ensure inclusivity and sustainability.
.
The NGO Support Initiative is a flagship program of the dRPC, a leading Nigerian non-profit intermediary with over 32 years of experience in sub-granting, organizational capacity building, and supporting civil society organizations working in gender equality, social justice, and third sector resilience within the development and humanitarian space.
.
As part of the initiative, all successful applicants must participate in a comprehensive four-module virtual training program covering key areas such as project management, financial compliance, fundraising, and sustainability planning. NGOs that perform exceptionally well under the grant will receive recommendations to social impact investors for further support and scale-up opportunities.
.
This is a unique opportunity for NGOs to bounce back stronger, expand their reach, and continue driving meaningful change for women and communities in Nigeria.
Eligibility:
- Open to non-governmental organizations in Nigeria
- Women-led NGOs are especially encouraged to apply, aligning with dRPC’s long-standing commitment to gender equality and inclusive development.
