The Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) Rapid Response Window (RRW) is accepting concept notes from eligible applicants in countries with active peace processes.

This opportunity is open to those working at both national and sub-national levels in contexts where formal peace negotiations or implementation efforts are underway. The funding supports activities aligned with peace processes classified under Track 1, Track 2, or peace agreement implementation.

Track 1 refers to high-level peace efforts led by governments, international bodies, or the United Nations. These typically include ceasefires, national dialogues, political transitions, peace treaty negotiations, and constitutional processes. Track 2 involves informal efforts by influential actors aiming to support or complement the official process. These may include community engagement, awareness building, and activities that create trust and understanding between stakeholders and peace actors.

The funding also supports projects involved in the implementation of peace agreements. This includes monitoring the commitments made, facilitating truth and reconciliation efforts, reporting on progress, and holding authorities accountable. Initiatives may occur at local, national, or international levels and must contribute directly to strengthening the peace process.

Benefits
- The second stream, Short-Term Grants, provides up to $100,000 to support projects that align with the RRW’s goals.
- These grants are meant for formally registered civil society organizations working on initiatives such as advocacy for women’s involvement in peace negotiations, capacity-building workshops, strategic planning, and monitoring of gender commitments in peace agreements.
- Projects must be supported by an international NGO partner and directly tied to an ongoing peace process.
- Formal registration is required but can be based in any country.
Eligibility:
- For Short Term Grants, national, regional, local women’s rights organizations, youth focused, or young women led organizations, feminist civil society organizations can apply.
- Coalitions among CSOs are also eligible.
